Today was the first day in my week off. It’s so good to just take time out away from the trials and tribulations that is work, even if you’re not doing anything in particular. It was one of those days. A wander into Walsall town centre ended up being a 2 – 3 hour walk of the Arboretum.
In the town I can walk and pass hundreds of people but think nothing. I’m in my little bubble, oblivious to all around me. Get in, get what I want and get out. I’m not a people person. Walk through the town to the other end and there’s the countryside. Sanctuary. I feel miniscule, yet tremendously thankful when I see the expanse of blue with white, fluffy clouds, when I hear the hedgerows bursting with birdsong, when the scent of blossoms fills the air and I feel the breeze and sun’s rays against my face. It’s these little moments that I cherish.
